The Frank Penguin Returns

Hello again. Or, if you’re new here, welcome. I’m Frank. I’m a small, slightly judgmental penguin who once washed up on the Southbank and now finds himself knee-deep in Britain’s curious corners and cultural capers.
This blog began as a place for ramblings: food musings, pandemic ponderings, and the occasional philosophical crisis. But after a period of reflection (and much turmoil), I’ve decided it’s time for a little reinvention.
The Frank Penguin is now waddling with purpose.
Expect a blend of:
🕰️ Hidden Histories – the stories that never made it into your school textbooks, from forgotten inventors to inexplicably popular Victorian fads.
🎭 Theatre Reviews – honest reflections on stage shows, from fringe gems to West End hits (and occasional misses).
🏛️ Museum Meanderings – visits to eccentric collections and cultural oddities, because why settle for the British Museum when there’s a lawnmower museum in Merseyside?
📸 Cultural Commentary – the quirky, the overlooked, and the charmingly baffling, served with a dry biscuit and a raised eyebrow.
This isn’t history in tweed or art in hushed tones, it’s curiosity for the culturally curious, with a Frank view. A celebration of the British knack for the quietly bizarre. If that sounds like your sort of thing, do stick around. You can follow along on social media, or sign up for the newsletter (when I work out how to do one that doesn’t end up in spam).
The Penguin is back — and he’s got stories to tell.
Yours,
Frank 🐧
